Just off Fort Avenue, and visible from it, this church is a correct interpretation of an early English Gothic church. The simple, crenellated tower is built of Virginia greenstone reused from an earlier Episcopal chapel, but the greenstone walls of the sanctuary were quarried anew for this building. Although original plans called for a U-shaped complex, the parish house “leg” was not built until 1993.
