This is a fine example of the English-style parish churches in which the Hewitt brothers specialized after leaving their partnership with Frank Furness in 1875. The architects used local sandstone weathered to a grayish color for this Gothic Revival structure, and lined the side elevations with small buttresses. The steeply pitched roof and bell tower are well suited to the corner site. The church retains the original iron railing around its yard. The interior has a single nave with exposed wooden trusswork under the roof.
