This rare pedestrian-only steel deck suspension bridge is mounted on the heavy stone piers built for an 1886 railroad bridge that was damaged in the Johnstown flood of 1889. The bridge joins Hyde Park on the Westmoreland County side of the Kiskiminetas River with Leechburg. It continues to be used daily by those who live in Armstrong County and work for Hyde Park industries and vice versa. The steel grating reverberates with each footfall.
