Amelia's first high school, like the Charlotte Agricultural High School (CT10), is one of a number of Southside school buildings designed by Robinson early in his career when his interpretations of Colonial Revival were much freer than his later, more exact versions. The hipped-roof two-story brick building with a raised basement is entered through double doors surmounted by a large fanlight. Triple nine-over-nine windows flank the entrance and are repeated on the second floor where two lower central windows light the interior stairway.
