An early example of adaptive reuse on the waterfront is represented by the conversion of this industrial building to apartments. The facade of a brick warehouse building of 1917 has been opened through a reinforced concrete frame with inset balconies and setback apartments, forming a lively elevation on Atlantic Avenue, enhanced by great views toward the sea. The concrete base, composed of parking levels, is less than satisfactory, as is the Commercial Street facade. Still, the building works imaginatively within its limitations, namely the extant structure.
