1872, Harry W. Jones; c. 1905. Madison Ave., .5 mile south of city limits on old Iowa 61

The original stone house has been so enshrouded by the extensive remodeling (c. 1905) that the whole now reads as a turn-of-the-century Colonial Revival home. This later design was by the gifted and fashionable Minneapolis architect Harry W. Jones. Jones provided a highly visible two-story Ionic portico as the new entrance to the house, and then injected numerous other changes and additions, inside and out.
