A residential area for patients, McVeigh Home includes twenty-one double-pitched hipped-roof residences, a recreation hall, dormitory, and pool hall sited around a quadrangular lawn. The pool hall, designed by Yapp, remains the most engaging structure in this complex, with its extensive glazing and accompanying openness. John McVeigh, after whom the complex was named, was the superintendent at Kalaupapa from 1902 to 1929.
