This modern regionalist library is defined by its sweeping, truncated, double-pitched hipped roof and the clean contrast of its lava-rock veneer and smooth, white concrete surfaces. The slotlike floor-to-ceiling front windows give a sense of symmetry to the facade, which the off-center entrance betrays.
