1939, Victorine and Samuel Homsey. 10 W. Lea Blvd.

Delaware's oldest community theater, the League at first met in Lea Mills on the Brandywine before moving into this severely stripped-modernist, 300-seat brick facility. Along with five other Homsey buildings, it was listed in John McAndrew's Guide to Modern Architecture: Northeast States (1940) on architectural modernism. Early contributors pressed their hands into cement on the sidewalk, as in Hollywood. The lobby has been enlarged and a thrust stage added to the auditorium.
