Although its early history is obscure, this frame house is thought to have been built by Isaac T. Mann, who almost immediately upon its completion commissioned architect W. J. Smith to plan alterations and an addition. The result is a long, narrow, relatively plain Queen Anne style house. A large polygonal corner tower is the most ornamental feature, and the curved, open porch that wraps around the first floor is the most delightful appendage. Because the house occupied most of the lot, the Manns built a playhouse for their children directly across the Bluestone River. The Warren Truss footbridge and the playhouse (now a private residence on the hillside opposite) remain. I. T. Mann, for whom the Wyoming County coal company town of Itmann (
