The best-preserved and most spectacular of a series of schools by Cutshaw, this building has a lavish Italianate facade that displays a combination of cast iron, granite, and brick. The Lshaped plan of the building allowed for the maximum amount of light and air. A devastating fire destroyed much of the building in 1989. The reconstruction incorporates a restaurant in the raised basement level and offices above.
