Overrestored and too pretty, still Sully, built for Richard Bland Lee, younger brother of Henry (Light Horse Harry) Lee, provides a glimpse of less pretentious homes of the late eighteenth century. It is not a mansion but a rambling farmhouse, fronted by a wide (original) piazza decorated with scalloped eaves. The interior woodwork is particularly fine. The farmstead includes numerous outbuildings of interest, among them a stone dairy and servants' structure covered with pargeting, or stucco set with small stones, which is rare in Virginia. It is operated by the Fairfax County Parks Authority.
