The former Raleigh Hotel is a ten-story steel and reinforced-concrete Prairie School– influenced commercial building. It is clad with brick and has a cast-stone base and belt courses, with a pressed-metal cornice and Sullivanesque cartouches. It served as the downtown's flagship hotel through much of the twentieth century. The fixed glass windows are from a c. 1970 alteration. The building is now used for state offices.
