The house of Swiss immigrants Elizabeth Meyer and Silvain Pela is another variant on the I-house. Here, what wants to be a symmetrically organized house has had the two western bays of what might otherwise be a five-bay double veranda filled in to make the house front asymmetrical. The conservatism of the house is registered in its six-over-six-pane windows framed with Grecian architraves. Across the street, the c. 1860 Herman Zahn House at 107 S. De León Street is a compact version of the double-pitched roof, side-gabled cottage type.
