Sensationally long and low, the sprawling one-story house that Houston architect Hood designed for Port Arthur businessman Fred Rosen and his wife, lawyer Marian S. Rosen, is a 1950s contemporary classic. Unity is achieved in this big house with an emphatic horizontal fascia that sweeps out to encompass the driveway and motor court. Adding to the excitement of the architecture are the oil tankers that glide silently by at rooftop level along the Sabine-Neches Waterway.
