1901. 212 E. Travis St.

This house demonstrates the continuation of the local tradition of using large limestone blocks for wall construction into the twentieth century. The centrally placed front door is framed by a slightly projecting limestone bay, giving it further emphasis. The south facade is shaded by one of the most elaborate wood porches in town, with an equally fine cast-iron fence across the front of the yard. Gold was an officer at the Bank of Fredericksburg (
NB39).
