Londonderry is a superb example of the penchant among Little Compton residents, during the Colonial Revival of the 1920s and 1930s especially, for enlarging plain, shingled eighteenth- and nineteenth-century farmhouses by picturesque shingled accretions in a rambling composition, and embowering the whole in a lavish flower garden.
