The fact that the architect of this bank was from Philadelphia suggests the aspirations of the community at the height of its industrial prosperity. Miller's fine Romanesque Revival essay is enlivened by its vigorously stepped gables and muscular ornament, while a cross gable features half-round windows on either end, lighting a second story. Miller also designed numerous houses in Bangor in 1891, including nine for O. W. Bosrick and one for J. F. Miller, perhaps a relative.
