This imposing house, home of banker W. F. Reynolds, was built in the heyday of Bellefonte's prosperity. The building's massive proportions and heavy brownstone blocks point to Romanesque Revival, while the mansard roof and spire, wooden bracketing, cornice work, bargeboard, and porch all hail from different stylistic vocabularies to give the house a playful eclectic character. This is one of many large, imposing mansions lining N. Allegheny and Linn streets, and is balanced on its block by the handsome brownstone St. John's United Church of Christ (1880; 145 W. Linn Street).
