The architectural theme of these two brick buildings with stone bases is English Georgian. The Odd Fellows home was built in 1901–1902; it burned in 1905 and was rebuilt the following year. Its grand feature is a two-story pedimented porch enclosed between two wings. The 1912 Orphans Home has a large pedimented entrance piece, and each of its encompassing end wings terminates in two-story porches with Ionic columns; the porches are elevated on raised basements.
