August Getz and Son were the builders of this unusual Neoclassical house erected for $8,995. The two-story Ionic portico of the Daly house breaks the area's typical row house streetscape, with the facade partially shaded by it and the attic dormers shaded by the tall balustrade. Yellow brick and a red tile roof add to the house's Mediterranean flavor, an early twentieth-century version of a rural or suburban temple house updated for an urban context.
