Rocky Ford High School

-A A +A
1963, Caudill Rowlett Scott and Paul S. Pierson, associated architects. West of Play Park Hill golf course between Washington Ave. and Cottonwood Lane

The high school's single-story runs of brick classrooms enclose a south-facing courtyard on three sides in the manner of an early Spanish fortification. Connecting interior hallways look onto the courtyard through large, full-height windows. Within the courtyard, the gymnasium is located in a bermed building covered in a shallow hyperbolic paraboloid, with window bands filling the remaining walls.
