1977, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (dam). Southwest corner of S. Wadsworth and Deer Creek

This 147-foot-high, earth-fill flood control dam on the South Platte River inundated much of the 1870s ranch of Isaac W. Chatfield at the confluence of the Platte, Plum Creek, and Deer Creek. A visitors' center, picnic areas and museum, and the Denver Botanic Gardens Arboretum make this a favorite recreation area.
