John H. Bloedorn, president of the Farmers State Bank, built the landmark bank building at 300 Main Street (
MR02). His wife, after seeing a Mountjoy and Frewen house in Denver, had that firm build a similar Georgian Revival residence. Featured in Country Homes magazine in 1928, it is easily the finest home in Fort Morgan, complete with third-floor ballroom. The brick house is a symmetrical design with pedimented entry portico and center hall plan under a side-gable roof with matching chimneys in each gable end. The mansion sits behind a brick post and wooden lattice fence, surrounded by a large lawn and formal gardens.
