William Moyer was a successful banker and department store founder. A noted local philanthropist until the Depression, Moyer funded college tuition for local children, including novelist and playwright Dalton Trumbo, who portrayed life in Grand Junction in his novel Eclipse. Moyer's buff brick two-story house has sandstone trim and a double entry.
