Frank Damascio and his partner, Horace Palladino, designed and built this single-story brick box with 15-foot ceilings for their North Denver Mercantile Company. Brick pilasters rise above the roof to bracket a narrow, corbeled cornice. Since the 1920s the Cerrone family has operated one of Denver's last old-fashioned neighborhood groceries with its original hardwood floor, wooden display cabinets, and chopping blocks guarded by a statue of the Blessed Virgin.
