This Carnegie branch library, a domesticscale example of the Italian Renaissance Revival style, honors Montview Boulevard's grand but residential scale. The library, built for $27,000, is enriched by details such as the balustraded motif used in the ribbon windows. The diamond-paned leaded windows are echoed by the decorative diamonds of the paneled door. An unfortunate 1964 remodeling was happily undone in a 1994 restoration. Once again, the interior gives its original impression of natural light and spaciousness, with dark wood-work and ceiling beams for contrast.
