Built as headquarters for a company specializing in the transportation of helium gas, Bliss’s “neo-agrarian” design was “influenced from barns and sheds built by early farmers in the Texas Panhandle.” Rock-faced limestone laid in alternating wide and narrow courses, standing-seam metal roofs, and water collection cisterns recall this regional heritage. Round posts in the tapered form of helium gas tanks support the shade trellises at the main entrance.
