Robert S. Munger patented numerous advancements to cotton-ginning equipment, opening a plant in Dallas in 1885 and building these brick structures in 1888 to manufacture his cotton gin equipment. After expanding the business to Birmingham, Alabama, he became the largest maker of gin equipment in the nation.
