This eclectic mansion, notable for fine interior wood-work by carpenter Joseph John Queree, housed Dennis Sheedy, a self-made rancher, banker, and businessman. “A love of nature prompted me to furnish each room with a distinctive wood,” Sheedy explained, “and I carried out the idea to include the furniture.” After Sheedy's death in 1927, his home became the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. Both the house and the matching carriage house were renovated in the 1970s for business use but retain many lavish elements of decor such as the sheepskin wall covering in the entry.
