In the Tambien Saloon, opened on this site by Avery Gallup and Andrew Stanbury, western artist Charles Stewart Stobie raffled several of his landscapes and Indian portraits to help pay his bar tab. The original false-fronted saloon was replaced by this Italian-ate building, three stories of brick decorated with stone and cast iron pilasters that blossom into metal flowers.
