The theater’s Art Deco styling built upon the success of the recently opened Fair Park (DS91), with a dramatic tower fluted in neon

and an interior designed by Texas Centennial artist Eugene Gilboe. The strong image of the tower anchored the new suburban shopping area and gave identity to the surrounding residential development by Dines and Kraft.
