Designed by New York superstar Philip Johnson, this strange, overgrown neo-Palladian “spec” office tower building can't be missed from I-495, and it may well be the most egregious example in the region of the excesses of postmodernism. From a distance the tower's frankly false columns and pediment look silly, though a closer view reveals a few redeeming qualities in the raised moldings at the entrance and the usual splashy lobby.
