The twin silver towers in a minimalist sculptural form that play off each other with identical sleek aluminum skins are eye catchers. Although the Gannett Building has the easier entrance to find, the interior mall is undistinguished. The entrance to the USA Today Building is memorable. Escalators and water cascade down, and the view toward Washington from the stairs and the third- and fourth-floor malls is impressive. In September 1999 the Gannett Corporation announced it would relocate to Tysons Corner in 2001; hence the buildings will receive new names.
