This dwelling later served as the residence of noted regional historian Johnson Scott. Bucolic in feel, the one-story brick cottage with extended parapets features segmented arch openings with glass-paneled casement windows with tiled flower boxes. In a state of disrepair, the cottage is exemplary of its type in Rio Grande City, a type so common that it is interspersed throughout the city amidst large-scale commercial and residential buildings.
