As the former regional production plant of Nabisco, designed by its corporate architect, the National Biscuit Company building is a five- and six-story concrete-framed, red brick–faced industrial loft featuring a seven-story stair tower at the corner of Chenevert and Ruiz streets. It is the architectural landmark of the Second Ward Wholesale District, which lies on the south side of Buffalo Bayou just across from the Fifth Ward Factory District.
