Two serious fires, one in 1899 and the second in 1906, are responsible for the architectural consistency of Main Street in downtown Edna. The former J. M. Lee Building is an anachronistic version of neo-Georgian architecture. At 124 W. Main Street is the narrower, two-story Frank Milby Building, dated to 1895 and attributed to Edna builder W. D. Whitlow and Brother. The Milby Building's tripartite parapet is reminiscent of Jules Leffland's commercial storefronts. Two other buildings in this block, the two-story building at 108 W. Main with its corbeled frieze and cornice of red brick on a buff brick field, and the one-story building at 102–104 W. Main, with the date “1907” inscribed in a decorative gablet and exhibiting the red-on-buff theme in upper-tier decorative brickwork, are also redolent of Leffland.
