1919; 1938, Ernest L. Shult. 930 3rd St.

Now used as a performance center, the Cole began life as the Liberty Theater. Its planar street front received a jazzy remodeling in 1938 by Shult, then practicing in Rosenberg, with diagonal rays erupting from a tiered, black, terra-cotta centerpiece. By virtue of what is primarily a paint job, the Cole stands out on Rosenberg's two-block-long main street.
