The earliest surviving commercial building in Saltville, the bank has rough limestone walls that contrast with its more refined Beaux-Arts Classical details. The building's recessed entrance is framed by Ionic columns and concludes with a parapet embellished with a cartouche and finials. The effect is sturdy and secure.
