This charming confection was built by school-teacher Griffith D. Neal when he got married. With three high-pitched front gables, bargeboards dripping sawn fleurs-de-lis, and dramatically rising finials, the house was clearly influenced by Sharswood (PI22), designed by Alexander Jackson Davis and constructed three years earlier. Pointed-arched windows, with correspondingly arched shutters, rise high into the gables, and a one-story porch with latticing and rails runs the width of the facade.
