Buffalo Presbyterian Church

Standing north of the academy, this brick meetinghouse presents a broad, gabled facade to the street. Overall forms and details are Greek Revival, but the lunette in the gable harkens back to Federal precedents. A prominent octagonal belfry with dome and finial straddles the ridge of the roof. The two front entrance doors, one for each sex, reflect midnineteenth-century Presbyterian practice. Each of the oversized windows in the three-bay side walls contains fifty-five panes in a three-sash arrangement.
