Drinko Library

Drinko Library West Virginia Collection within the Carol M. Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division
1995–1998, Perry Dean Rogers and Partners. East side of Hal Greer Blvd., south of Old Main

This state-of-the-art library and computer center has an appropriately futuristic look, although the materials—limestone and brick—were chosen to relate it to older campus structures. It is entered through a glazed rotunda, recessed between flanking blocks of varying heights. Designed by a well-known Boston firm, the new library replaced Northcott Science Hall (1915, H. Rus Warne), whose Tudor-arched entrance has been reused as the entrance to the new facility.
