“Stone walls do not a prison make,” but this diminutive jail tries so hard to be stern and forbidding that it's almost a shame to say it's a sham. Constructed with rough-hewn sandstone blocks, the two-story building is ornamented with corbeled battlements at its corners, but the scale is so small that any sense of defense is lost. “Mock military” comes to mind as a stylistic term.
