Beer baron Frederick Pabst gave this French Gothic–influenced house to his daughter Marie as a wedding present. The house’s ornate facade gleams with terra-cotta trim. Polygonal towers at each end of the facade terminate with short spires and bristle with crockets and finials. The entrance features an elaborate double-arched portico topped by a balustrade and a row of finials. The interior is finished with finely crafted Gothic Revival woodwork. For this design, Pabst turned to his corporate architect, Otto Strack.
