An even more high-style statement than the houses of Dr. Cobb and Dr. Shedd (CA29) is the house rebuilt by Burnham in 1860 for storekeeper Ira McClary. It sits on a rise behind McClary's subsequently relocated shop. Its two-story pedimented pavilion with fluted Ionic columns in antis is set between symmetrical, recessed one-and-a-half-story wings with flush-board siding, entablatures, and under-window panels. The quality of the design and detailing make this one of the finest pavilion-with-ells Greek houses in Vermont.
