c. 1815. 33 Liberty St.

The Thomas Cole House, at the southwest corner of Liberty and Union streets, is a modest bracketed house in the vernacular Italianate manner. John's brother, Charles Wheaton, lived on the northeast corner, in a Federal house with an Italianate bay window later added above the entrance porch. Its fine Ionic columns and door treatment duplicate those of John's house.
