This monumental Greek Revival commercial building, with gable pediment facing the street and attic monitors, was built just as industrial construction shifted from stone to brick. Providence was once famous for Greek Revival storefronts deeply inset within just such simple granite framing. One of the few remaining and most impressive examples, it has been sympathetically rehabilitated for its present use. Others exist in North Smithfield (see NS16 and NS28).
