Larger than the Louis Kotzow House, this was built for a cabinetmaker in what was then called the “modern Gothic” manner, with the same L-shaped massing around a porch, but with more numerous dormers and bay windows. Similarities in the paneled style suggest that the same designer did both. The porch and front bay window show the same basic design, if somewhat simplified, except that the curved flare to the projecting eaves and the rounding of window corners are additional Oriental incidents. This and the Katzow House also retain identical pairs of terra-cotta chimney pots in the “Gothic” or “Tudor” manner.
