Exeter Town Pound

Exeter Town Pound

Exeter Town Pound C Lothian
Probably early 19th century. Victory Hwy. (Ten Rod Rd.), access road about three-quarters of a mile east of its intersection with Route 102 (pole 155)

Rhode Island is fortunate in the number of its preserved pounds. This nearly square, shoulder-height boulder enclosure and that in Glocester (see the entry under Glocester) are the most considerable and best preserved. Of the two, only Exeter's retains (at least for now) its farmland setting.
