The continuity of culture across the larger region is evident in the similarity between this school and the Georgian-proportioned Germantown Academy of half a century earlier (
PH157). Classrooms occupied the first and second stories while the third had quarters for the teacher. A cupola with a prescribed weathervane of a spear and vane and a lightning rod crowned the roof. The building presently houses the Lower Merion Historical Society.
